Curious warm-toned winter farm scene photograph showing a family mostly on horseback.  The father is seen holding the reins of his wife’s horse with his dog directly behind him.  One of the more interesting features with this image is the brand new windmill which reads Perkins.  For a full description about the history of Perkins Windmills, please see, http://www.spearman.org/Perkinshistory.html .    Directly in front of the house is the old windmill leaning on its side.   Knowing farm life we can assume this new purchase came after a good harvest and was installed during the winter months.  The image is in very good condition with a few flares in the negative most noticeably on the top right corner.  With the mount it measures 8” x 10”.
